Copyright (or author’s right) is a term used to describe the rights that creators have over their literary and artistic works. Works covered by copyright range from books, music, paintings, sculpture, and films, to computer programs, databases, advertisements, maps, and technical drawings.

Copyright protection, therefore, extends only to expressions, and not ideas, procedures, methods of operation, or mathematical concepts as such. Copyright may or may not be available for several objects such as titles, slogans, or logos, depending on whether they contain sufficient authorship.

Consequently, this covers materials such as articles, letters, blogs, videos, pictures, and other relevant content that you will be displayed on your blogs or websites. It is noteworthy to remember that the material must originally be yours as you cannot claim other people’s work as yours.

As long as you can prove that these forms of expressions are originally yours, you automatically gain copyrights. However, it will be wise to follow your country’s registration of copyright processes to register your work to ensure that you secure your rights through legal registration. This will ease your work to prove your rights over an expression than when they are not registered.

An example of a notice against infringement of copyright on one’s blog or website can read as follows:

“Beyond the Financial Nomad owns or license all copyrights in the letters, blogs, videos, pictures, and other content(s) text, images, photographs, video audio graphics user interface, and other content provided on this website/blog (whereby us or you) to the full extent provided under the copyright laws of United States.

You may use the material and contents contained in the website/blog solely for your individual or non-commercial and informational purposes only.
